Gallanach
Gallanach Estate
Welcome to Gallanach

Gallanach is a family run estate which has been owned by the MacDougalls of Gallanach since 1641. Our ancestry dates back to 1164 when Dugall, the eldest son of King Somerled of the Hebrides, founded the clan. To this day we remain one of the longest-established MacDougall families still resident in the Oban area.

Today, the Estate combines its livestock farming activities with offering comfortable and secluded self-catering accommodation within what was the staff quarters of the mansion house, built on the site of the previous dwelling in 1812.

Gallanach offers something for everyone with unrivalled views, abundant wildlife and tranquillity among some of the most spectacular unspoilt scenery in Scotland, while still being close to all the amenities of Oban, the 'Gateway to the Islands'. We can also host private weddings, celebrations and bespoke events.
